About

Heatblush is the result of Fransmey and Euri Freitas writing songs together for over ten years, searching for something authentic and finally finding it. It’s the tipping point of a long balance act between the expectations of adult life and the dream of making music for real. At the end of 2019, after yet another hiatus from music, they decided to learn new instruments. Euri took up drumming and Fransmey got bass lessons with multi-instrumentalist Arath Corral, who would soon become a close friend and band member.

Singer/bassist Fransmey is a purely artistic soul. She likes to express herself not just through music but also dance, acting, and painting. Fransmey’s influences go from blues to mainstream pop, with a hint of Brazilian MPB, yet in her heart there will always be a place for the love triangle of punk, disco, and grunge. She says her lyrics are “pretty much like real life, or at least life for a pisces woman”. It’s clear she’s into all things mystical. “You may hear some of that in our songs too.”

Arath is the band’s guitarist and wildcard. He is featured in releases by various jazz acts from New York City and has toured across the United States, France, England, Mexico, and Canada. When asked about his musical preferences, he replies “even though I have an eclectic taste for music, I must say jazz holds a special place in my heart.”

For Euri, after playing guitar his whole life, switching to the drums felt like both a surprise and a no-brainer. “I can’t believe it took me so long to find out I was meant to be a drummer all along,” he says. Euri’s forays in music have ranged from grunge to new wave to samba-rock. Yes, that’s a thing.

The band is based out of somewhere between Hoboken, NJ and Brooklyn, NY. Their debut single “Young and Sweet” was released independently on February 4th, 2022 and is available in all streaming platforms.
